Blue Owl Brewing, a staple in Austin’s craft beer scene known for its innovative sour beers and unique charm, is entering an exciting new chapter. The brewery is now under the ownership of brothers Tony and Ian Norris, in partnership with Blue Owl’s original co-founder and Executive Brewer Jeff Young. Together, they bring a fresh and renewed enthusiasm for what makes Blue Owl so special.
Longtime fans can rest assured — the soul of Blue Owl isn’t going anywhere. Tony and Ian are committed to maintaining the same welcoming vibe that craft beer enthusiasts have appreciated for the past nine years. At the same time, they’re bringing their vision to the table, highlighting the brewery’s strengths and introducing thoughtful updates to support its continued growth.
One area of focus will be the expansion of Blue Owl’s Bob’s Fine Beers line, which includes fan favorites like Bob’s Your Uncle Juicy IPA and Bob’s Cold One Light Lager. The brewery will also continue crafting the specialty sours that have made it a standout in Austin’s beer scene.
Jeff Young will stay on as Co-Owner and Executive Brewer to help guide this new era and keep the beer as well-crafted and innovative as ever.
